(B) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Rural India Mahotsav 2025 in New Delhi on January 4. The theme of Rural India Mahotsav 2025 is – ‘Building Self-reliant Rural India for Developed India 2047.’ The event will showcase India’s cultural heritage and involve government officials, rural entrepreneurs, artisans, and stakeholders in rural transformation.

(A) The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention is being organised from 8 to 10 January in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. This is the highest honour given to Indians living abroad. The theme of this PBD Convention 2025 is “Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat”. The 17th edition of the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas convention was held from 8-10 January 2023, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The theme of the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is “Diaspora: Reliable partners for India’s progress in Amrit Kaal”. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention was started by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2003. A large number of Indian diaspora members from over 50 different countries have registered to participate in the PBD Convention this year. The Ministry of External Affairs announced the names of 27 people living in 23 countries for the Pravasi Bharatiya Awards for the year 2025.

(C) ‘Tejas’ and ‘Tara’, are the official mascot of first kho kho world cup 2025. The tournament will be played from January 13-19, 2025 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi. Bollywood actor Salman Khan is the brand ambassador for Kho-Kho World Cup 2025. 21 men’s and 20 women’s teams from 24 countries across 6 continents will participate in the tournament.

(B) The 2026 Winter Olympics or Para Olympics will be held from 6 to 22 February 2026  in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. Tina and Milo are the official mascots of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Winter Paralympic Games.
