(B) France will host the AI summit on February 10-11. President Macron announced the event during the 30th Conference of Ambassadors. Countries that play a significant role in the development and regulation of AI technology, including the US, China, India, and the Gulf states, will attend the summit.

(B) India will host the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) in 2026. The CSPOC gives its member nations a forum to share best practices. The proper use of social media and artificial intelligence (AI) will be the main topics of discussion during the conference. To improve MPs’ access to legislative processes, the Lok Sabha implemented Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technology last year. These state-of-the-art technologies are used to make parliamentary materials available in several languages and to translate them into regional languages for members of parliament.

(A) The “Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025” was launched on January 10, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs under the leadership of Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. This event is a reimagined version of the National Youth Festival, aiming to celebrate youth leadership and engage young leaders from across India in thematic discussions, creative competitions, and cultural experiences. The dialogue’s goal is to empower the next generation of leaders to contribute to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Over 3,000 participants, selected from 30 lakh applicants, are part of the program, which focuses on key issues related to a developed India. The event provides a platform for young leaders to showcase their talent, innovation, and ideas.

Key Highlights:

Competitions and Thematic Presentations: Participants took part in creative competitions based on the theme of a developed India, including painting, storytelling, music, dance, speech, and poetry. These activities encouraged participants to express their vision for a developed India through various artistic mediums.

Inaugural Session: The program began with an orientation session, featuring over 3,000 young leaders from each state and union territory. Mrs. Meeta Rajiv Lochan, Secretary of Youth Affairs, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the role of youth in shaping India’s future.

(A) The Third Eye Asian Film Festival has begun in Mumbai from 10th January and will continue till 16th January. A total of 61 films have been selected for this festival. The festival was inaugurated with the screening of the Chinese film ‘The Black Dog’ which won the Best Film Award at the Cannes Film Festival. On this occasion, famous lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar will be honored with the ‘Asian Cinema Culture Award’ and journalist Rafiq Baghdadi will be given the ‘Satyajit Ray Memorial Award’.

(B) The President Draupadi Murmu presented the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards 2025’ to 27 people on January 10. The awardees include Trinidad-Tobago President Christine Carla Kangalu (in the public category), B Usha Kumari Parashar from the UK (in the field of politics) and Dr Sharmila Ford from the US (in the field of community service).
